Inspired by the Greek myth of Narcissus, a beautiful young man who fell in love with his own reflection, NARCISSUS crafts a decorative vanity mirror, exploring notions of self-perception, beauty and the duality of reflection. A brass-trimmed oval form, shrouded by quartz crystals, echoes the delicate beauty of the flower by the same name, drawing an association with rebirth and new beginnings. Mirrors have long been associated with portals to other realms, introspection, and the subconscious. The phrase ‘through a glass, darkly’ captures this sense of mystery and the veiled nature of self-knowledge.
