A New Order of Luxury
Founded in 2004 by Darin Geise, COUP D’ETAT emerged from a small storefront in San Francisco with an intent to challenge the traditional design showroom model.
Conceived as an amalgam of old and new, the gallery quickly became a destination for designers seeking rare antiques, curated vintage furniture, and distinctive contemporary work presented with a gallery sensibility.

COUP D’ETAT is known for its progressive visual language and ever-evolving gallery experience, with each space reimagined multiple times each year to reflect new work, evolving ideas, and cultural shifts.
Each reset offers an opportunity to reconsider how objects relate, interact, and live together.
