I · COUP D'ETAT
A New Order of Luxury
Founded in 2004 by Darin Geise, COUP D’ETAT emerged from a small storefront in San Francisco with an intent to challenge the traditional design showroom model.
Conceived as an amalgam of old and new, the gallery quickly became a destination for designers seeking rare antiques, curated vintage furniture, and distinctive contemporary work presented with a gallery sensibility.

II · COUP EDITIONs
Showrooms with no limit.
COUP D’ETAT is known for its progressive visual language and ever-evolving gallery experience, with each space reimagined multiple times each year to reflect new work, evolving ideas, and cultural shifts.

Each reset offers an opportunity to reconsider how objects relate, interact, and live together.
III · In-house
A World of Our Own
In addition to its represented lines, COUP D’ETAT presents three in-house collections: COUP STUDIO, COUP STUDIO Fabrics, and COUP XX.
Shaped by Geise’s appreciation for historical design and contemporary craftsmanship, these collections extend the gallery’s point of view through original design, textiles, and a curated offering of vintage and one-of-a-kind pieces.
Lighting & Furniture
COUP STUDIO
A collection of contemporary furniture and lighting conceived as modern collectibles with an emphasis on craftsmanship and material.
Textiles
COUP STUDIO Fabrics
A curated collection of luxury textiles pairing dynamic color with rich textures, from refined wovens and velvets to cloud-like sheepskins.
Vintage & Collectibles
COUP XX
A handpicked collection of twentieth-century design, rare vintage furnishings, and contemporary works that nod to the past.
