Daniel Shapiro’s Squiggle #237 is hand-built using California stoneware through a combination of ceramic techniques. Elements are thrown on the wheel, or extruded, then painstakingly assembled to create a one-of-a-kind form. Once the piece has gone through the bisque fire, thousands of glaze droplets are applied by hand.

While each Squiggle Lamp is similar in concept they are all unique in form and finish. The process of building the lamps is its own creative journey, with the end result being a personality of its own.
